City Administrator Deb Gaul said the bid includes a family slide, a play structure, a climbing wall, sunshades, site furnishings and expansion of the filter building for storage. Voters in Nora Springs approved a bond issue of up to $800,000 in November to help pay for the aquatic center, which will replace the municipal swimming pool. The rest of the cost will be paid through fundraising and grants. Gaul said construction should begin early next month. The current pool will have to be demolished first as the aquatic center is to be built on that site. The proposed contract with Dean Snyder Construction states the work should be substantially complete on or before May 9, 2016, and ready for final payment on or before June 8, 2016.
